Making scrolling stationery using our graphics,
Outlook Express 5. and a scrolling script.
Download the scrolling script in the zip format:
  1KB
I use this one all the time, so I unzipped it on my desktop.

We will be using our 2002Train.gif & 2002Train_bg.jpg graphics
that we made in our Transparent Stationery lesson.

In Outlook Express click on File, New, Mail Message.
Have the cursor in the body of the page.
Click on Format and be sure Rich Text (HTML) is checked.
Click Insert, Text from File.
At the bottom of the Insert Text File box you will have HTML highlighted for the type of file. Find where you have your
blank_scroll_top-border OE5.htm file located and have it in the file name box. Click Open.

If you don't see the Edit Source and Preview tabs at the bottom of your screen click on View and have a check by Source Edit.

Now click on the Source tap.
About 3/4 of the way down the page you will see
src="file://C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery\YOURgraphic.jpg">
This is where you put in the path and your 2002Train.gif
If you saved or moved your Train graphic to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery\
folder than all you have to change is the YOURgraphic.jpg
to 2002Train.gif

In this same area in the script you will change the WIDTH and HEIGHT to that of the graphic you are using.
WIDTH: 668px; POSITION: absolute; TOP: 0px; HEIGHT: 169px"
You must change the WIDTH and HEIGHT PX numbers to match your graphic.

Now click on the Edit Tab at the bottom.
At the top of the screen click on Format, Background, Picture.
Browse to where you have your 2002Train_bg.jpg file saved.
Have it in the File Name box and click Open, OK.

If you would like a sound effect click on Format, Background,
Sound. Browse to where you have you sound effect. It can be in the mid or wav format. Have the file name in the File box and click Open. You now set the settings to play from 1 to 99 times, or Continuously.

Note: You will NOT see the scrolling graphic in you stationery while  in edit mode. You can click on the Preview tab to view it. You must be in Edit mode to type in your message and to sent it.

Now type in your message, address it, and mail it on its way.
